Greater Lawrence Family Health Center offers numerous community based services to the general community.
Mobile Food Market
Greater Lawrence Family Health Center and the Greater Boston Food Bank collaborate on a Mobile Market once per month from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, open to patients and community members. Volunteers are needed beginning at 8:30 am to help package the produce.
The Mobile Food Market is a farmer’s market style event, with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables free to anyone who registers.
Those interested in registering can call (978) 689-6731 to schedule an in-person appointment, or print, fill out and bring the following documents to be registered the day of the market:

- Be sure to bring your reusable grocery bags to carry your food home

Community Support Services at 100 Water Street, Lawrence, MA
Community health workers staff this location, where confidential testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV, and Viral Hepatitis is offered, at no cost to you, along with other support services, described below.
Opioid Prevention, Education, and Naloxone Distribution Program
Offers comprehensive education on signs and symptoms of overdose, offers naloxone to targeted groups (active opioid users and friends/family), and training on naloxone administration.
Prevention, Integrated Counseling, Screening and Referral (PICSR)
One of 12 Massachusetts DPH-funded community-based programs that provides free and confidential STI, HIV and Hepatitis screening and treatment referral, and Hepatitis A and B immunizations to specific target populations. Other services include syringe access and Narcan education and support, group and individual level interventions and stationary and mobile outreach in the Merrimack Valley.
Outreach and Enrollment (Community-based)
Community health workers from GLFHC are active in the community and provide assistance with enrollment into health insurance programs.
Stimulant Use Disorder Program
If you are struggling with cocaine or methamphetamine use, we are here to help! Find support, community, and healing today.
Our Stimulant Use Disorder Program offers a welcoming and supportive space for those battling cocaine and methamphetamine addiction. Participate in group visits, feel supported by medical staff, and engage in a variety of fun activities that promote healing and well-being.
The goal is to help you reclain your life and feel supported every step of the way. We’re here to listen, help, and guide you on your recovery journey.
The program is hosted at two GLFHC locations:

- Fun activities such as art, music, singing and games
- Gym/exercise activites focusing on recovery coaching services

Moms Do Care - First Steps Forward

Mission:
This program is designed to provide multidisciplinary, peer led, recovery oriented, wrap around support for pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women with a history of substance use.
Who qualifies?
Women who are 18+ years old, have current or past experience with substance use disorders, and fall in to one of the following groups:
- Are pregnant
- Are within 12 months of pregnancy (postpartum)
- Are parenting a child under the age of 36 months
We offer:
- Access to care management during prenatal/postpartum period
- Transportation
- Support with housing/food insecurity
- Increased access to behavioral health care
- Developing Plan of Safe Care to improve communication with DCF
- Connection with community resources through Lawrence Methuen Community Coalition (parenting classes, etc.)
- Patient support groups monthly
