Medical Interpreter Training and Advanced Medical Interpreter Training
Designed to assist the prospective medical interpreter in developing the skills necessary to facilitate effective, professional, and reliable medical interpretation in a healthcare setting. The MIT course is a 60- hour training on the fundamentals of medical interpreting, stressing techniques, ethics, and anatomy and physiology. The Advanced Medical Interpreter Training program provides working interpreters with opportunities for continuing education and networking.
The Northeast Tobacco Free Community Partnership
AHEC houses this program, funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This program works to support community efforts to lower smoking prevalence and exposure to secondhand smoke. The partnership works with local coalitions and policy leaders to combat the tobacco industry’s influence and encourage smokers to quit.
