About GLFHC

greater lawrence family health center 34 haverhill street locationAt Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC), we are dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered healthcare to the diverse communities of the Merrimack Valley. With a team of over 100 family physicians, including 48 residents in our nationally recognized Lawrence Family Medicine Residency, and a broad network of clinicians, GLFHC serves as the primary care provider for more than half of the adults and children in Greater Lawrence.

Each year, GLFHC clinicians deliver more than 800 babies and make over 12,000 hospital visits. We offer ambulatory acute care seven days a week and provide extended evening hours to ensure access to care when it’s needed most. Our care is comprehensive, coordinated, and grounded in deep, long-term relationships with our patients.

Our commitment to equity is at the core of everything we do. We prioritize culturally responsive, linguistically concordant care — delivered by our diverse and bilingual staff — so that every patient feels seen, heard, and understood. We are proud to offer a wide range of specialty clinics and programs to address the complex health needs of our community, including:

  • HIV and Hepatitis C Care
  • Latent TB Clinic
  • Gynecologic Care
  • Lactation Support
  • High Risk Obstetric Care
  • Obesity and Metabolic Health
  • Integrative Medicine Program
  • Sports Medicine Program
  • Group Medical Visits across a variety of chronic disease and wellness topics
  • CenteringPregnancy® Prenatal Care, supporting expectant parents in a group model

GLFHC operates multiple clinical sites across Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill, and we are deeply embedded in the community through our homeless and shelter outreach program, which ensures that individuals experiencing housing insecurity receive compassionate and consistent medical care.

In addition to clinical excellence, GLFHC is a leader in health professions education. Through the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency — one of the first programs in the nation to be based in a community health center — we train future physicians to practice full-spectrum, equity-focused care in underserved communities.

Join us at GLFHC — your home for health in the Merrimack Valley — where we bring together clinical innovation, medical education, and an unwavering commitment to justice to advance the health of the communities we serve.
