Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) has been awarded Gold status as an Advocacy Center of Excellence (ACE) from the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC).
This is the highest level awarded to CHCs for advocacy efforts – recognition of our unwavering commitment to advocating for affordable, equitable, and innovative care for the communities we serve.
GLFHC earned Silver status last year, and increased our advocacy efforts. This included:
- The Board of Directors adopting a Board Advocacy Resolution
- Board members and staff signing up as Health Center Advocates
- Contacting state and federal legislators
- Senior leadership, Board members and staff testifying on Beacon Hill and in Washington, DC
There are 1,500 community health centers nationwide providing health care to nearly 33 million individuals and families. At a time when federal funding for safety-net care is at risk, our advocacy has never been more important. You can learn more about becoming a health center advocate:
