GLFHC in Haiti with Diane Gatchell
Editors note: Diane Gatchell is GLFHC's Director of Pharmacy. She,
along with Elane Lee, Nurse Practitioner and other GLFHC staff members
are in Haiti this week, assisting with the continued relief efforts
there.
4/10/10 - Day 2:
I went to clinic today and helped reorganize medicines. We all split up
and went to 3 different places. The heat was ridiculous. After set up
we drove through Port Au Prince. The devastation was remarkable.
Buildings crumbled and people everywhere. So many living in tents and
so much garbage in the streets. Can't imagine how they can possibly
rebuild. Came home to a nice (cold) shower and nice dinner. Then the
torrential rains began. Had to move my tent to a dryer spot. Hopefully
tent will hold up again tonight.
