For the past several years, the Health Center has been piloting methods for the integration of Behavioral Health with our primary care system.
GLFHC partners with local behavioral health providers to strengthen the referral system, the sharing of medical records, and the coordination of patient treatment. GLFHC also retains several behavioral health professionals, who work with GLFHC’s clinicians and residents on screening and identification of behavioral health issues as well as on treatment/medication regimens in conjunction with the Family Pharmacy. GLFHC is at the forefront of integrating behavioral health into the primary care setting, and will expand behavioral health services in the future.
In order to care for patients’ medical and behavioral needs, GLFHC is expanding the behavioral health resources across the organization to integrate behavioral health into all of the primary care clinics. Currently, there are behavioral health clinicians at our Haverhill Street and SBHC- Greater Lawrence Technical School sites.
