Chief Medical Officer in the News

Zandra Kelley, MD, Chief Medical Officer for GLFHC, appeared recently in WBZ CBS Boston television news story about COVID-19 treatments/prescriptions. With much of the public not really clear about who would be eligible to receive a COVID treatment, Kelley said getting the word out is important. The treatment is very effective and may prevent future COVID surges.
“It is amazing who can qualify (for the treatment),” Kelley told WBZ reporter Kristina Rex. “It’s the usual suspects you might think, people with diabetes, with cancer, with heart disease, etc. But also, if someone is a smoker or ever has been a smoker, they could qualify. If someone is physically inactive, that also is a risk factor for a moderate to severe COVID and they could qualify. If someone is just overweight, they could qualify.”
