About GLFHC

Image GLFHC makes a difference by offering preventative care, health education, integrated clinical and social services, and affordable quality medical care.  Our programs are designed to address the needs in our community and eliminate existing health disparities.  We are changing lives for the better by:

  1. Improving prenatal care by 30% in just three years.
  2. Decreasing student pregnancies by 43% and school dismissals due to illness by 30%
  3. Eliminating the threat of HIV and AIDS.  For more than a decade, not one HIV+ baby has been born in Lawrence and the AIDS rate is dropping faster in Lawrence than statewide.
  4. Helping Latinos manage their diabetes more effectively. In fact, 73% of Lawrence's Latinos have had a hemoglobin A1C test in the past year.
  5. Providing health care for more than 800 of the region's homeless.  The Center is the only facility between Boston, MA and Portland, ME to offer such services.
  6. Operating the nation's first fully accredited family medicine residency program within a community health center.
